The Chicago TechNexus

TechNexus is the physical embodiment of the Illinois technology community. It was developed in partnership with the Illinois Technology Association (ITA) to serve as a ‘clubhouse’ and co-working facility to bring technology professionals together, foster relationships and promote a sense of community in Chicago.

The managing partners of TechNexus are Fred Hoch and Terry Howerton. Find us in the halls... let's grab a cup of coffee and talk about your business!

Fred Hoch is President of the Illinois Technology Association, a former executive of the national Software and Information Industry Association, and an entrepreneur. Ever wonder what’s going on in the technology industry and the dramatic changes that are transforming it? Fred Hoch works with companies to sort it all out. A recognized expert on the business models of the technology industry and in particular Software as a Service, which he has championed for the industry since 1999, Fred has worked with hundreds of companies to strategically address the ongoing transformation and challenges of the industry.

Terry Howerton passionately represents a new generation of tech entrepreneurs who are launching and building businesses in Chicago. As founding Chairman of the Illinois Technology Association (ITA), Terry champions the interests of nearly 700 local companies. He united dozens of local leaders to launch the ITA, based on a long-term mission that places the group among the nation's most influential technology associations. Terry also serves on the boards of area start-ups, emerging companies and non-profits, and is very involved in education reform following the 2009 launch of a new Chicago high school for entrepreneurs and technologists.

The Facility
"TechNexus is a great meeting and coworking facility where you'll regularly bump into hard-to-reach people in hallway conversations. You can do real work here, and the location readily enables city/suburbs connections."
